The Project
The project consisted of several distinct phases:
Phase 1 - Demolition of a former petrol filling station and the removal of the underground tanks, construction of new HGV hard standing area, internal alterations to former Somerfield retail unit, and construction new walls and openings.
Phase 2 - A new retail unit and associated car parking and external works. New footpaths, new service bay and landscaping.
Phase 3 - Work to the public realm areas including the main external thoroughfare, removal of the ramp, various elevation treatments, a link corridor to the car park area and refurbishment of the car park and core.
The project has won numerous awards including the BCSC Gold award in 2014.
